Opticis is specialist for:

Long distance transmission of digital signals

The principle is simple: At the transmitter (PC), the signal is converted from electrical to optical. It is transmitted over a glass fibre, and retransformed into a electrical signal at the receiver (e.g. display).

Switches and splitter for digital video signals
(DVI, HDMI, HDTV, SDI)

Mechanical switches and splitter cannot be used for the high-frequency DVI-Signals. Degradation of the signal quality (flanks, crosstalk) and the level (conclusion) are the consequence. Only an active distribution or an active Switch is an adequate solution for this task.

Long distance transmission of digital signals
Typ Description
DVI Digital optical transmission stretch for DVI-signals from PC to monitor: The monitor can be distant to the PC up to 500m.
HDMI Digital optical transmission range for HDMI-signals from the processor to the display. The monitor can be displaced up to 100m to the processor. Perfect for HDTV too - the resolution can be up 1080p at 36 bits colour depth.
DisplayPort With the Long distance DisplayPort cables from Opticis a display can be operated up to a distance of 2km from the video source.
USB Optical USB-extension. Expands the maximum lenght of a USB link from 5m up to 50m. If 50m are not enough or several USB devices at the device end are connected to a hub you can find more information at icron.
Multi-Link Digital transmission link for DVI-, USB- and audio signals from computer/settop box/multimedia device to display or TV. Suitable as an KVM-Extender as well.
Firewire The optical firewire repeater meets the IEEE1394.b standard and extends the range of a firewire connection up to 500m.
VCSEL Transceiver The Opticis VCSEL transceivers work with Gigabit Ethernet/InfiniBand (1.25Gbps/2.5Gbps) and Fibre Channel (1.06Gbps/2.125Gbps). They are fitted with SC/LC connectors. VCSELs and PIN photo diodes are manufactured on the own semiconductor line.
3G-SDI (Serial Digital Interface) Data transmission serialised and without compressing just on one line.
Switches and splitter for digital video signals
Typ Description
Splitter A Splitter channels the Input Signal to several drains. Example: A processor with DVI-Output triggers several displays with the same content at the same time.
Splitter (optisch) These optical splitters have the same function as described above, however these ones splitts an optical signal from a fiber cable into several optical outputs.
Schalter The Selector connects different sources with da drain. Example: A flatscreen can be triggered by a DVD-Player or a satellite receiver.
SDI Matrix Router The Matrix Router leads the signals of several sources to several drains. Example: The signals of several DVD-Player can be switched optionally to several Screens.
DVI Matrix Router The Matrix Router leads the signals of several sources to several drains. Example: The signals of several DVD-Player can be switched optionally to several Screens.
HDMI Matrix Router The Matrix Router leads the signals of several sources to several drains. Example: The signals of several DVD-Player can be switched optionally to several Screens.
