Bei den meisten Anfragen konnten wir feststellen, dass die Vorzüge eines ePaper Displays nicht wirklich ein Vorteil für das jeweils angefragte Projekt war. Aus diesem Grunde führen wir ePaper Displays nicht mehr in unserem Portfolio.

ePaper
What is ePaper and why do we need it?
Epaper is mostly referred to in relation with eBooks, eBook readers and eReaders. Ebooks are books in electronical form that can be read with an eReader (electronical device).
Popular eReaders are available from various companies like Sony or Amazon.
The main part of the eReader is the display- also known as the e-Paper Display.
„ePaper“ as it is almost like reading from normal paper. Our eyes can read without strain as the display doesn't flicker, there is no background light and it has very good contrast.
Like regular paper you need light – so it is not possible to read in the dark.
An eReader can store a great many pages so numerous books can be stored in one small device, without breaking a sweat from carrying them all.
Price Tag
There are also many other uses for ePaper Displays.
It can be used instead of a door sign in conference centres or as a price tag in supermarkets.
Static Signs/Displays
The ePaper display is also ideally suitable for static displays (text, pictures and numbers)
It only requires electricity when the picture content changes.
That means when a picture or text has been loaded onto an ePaper display, the battery could then be removed and the picture or text would permanently stay.
Advantages of ePaper displays
- no flickering on static displays (bi-stability)
- field of vision (almost 180°)
- very slim and light
- low power usage
- readable even in strong sunlight
- high resolution (approx. 160Dpi and therefore recognisably higher than LCDs)
- high contrast / 16 grey tones
